[This is a bit off the unix subject, but he asked for it...] Not quite, but close: I've written a deamon with an ARexx interface that plays any sample you send to it (raw or 8SVX) using just the amount of memory you specified when you started the daemon. Just type: 'address PLAY FILE samplefile ... or make yourself an ARexx script if that's to much to type... I considered making it a device, but decided ARexx was more flexible. You can find it along with Arq on ab20 - perhaps I ought to post it? It is called 'upd' (for micro player daemon) and has quite a few options.
