Keywords: shell bug bourne Message-ID: <4856@apricot12.UUCP> Date: 18 Jun 91 11:36:01 GMT Organization: Motorola Inc., Cellular Infrastructure Div., Arlington Heights, IL Lines: 17 I have been having a problem getting at jobs and cron jobs to run correctly. It also affects the invoking of the shell when used with the pi(pe) command of /usr/ucb/mail. It seems that the invoked program is not always getting the complete environment. It seems that the environment variables are sorted in alphabetic order but the first one is being lost on a random basis. The cure is force the first variable to be a don't care (AGARBAGE). Incidentally I use the Bourne shell on a Sun system. Anyone else encounter this situation? Any ideas? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Will Renkel - Motorola - Cellular 1501 W.
