Message-ID: Sender: news@newshub.ccs.yorku.ca (USENET News System) Organization: Computing & Communications Services, York University Distribution: comp Date: Thu, 20 Jun 1991 22:38:50 GMT Greetings... I have been running MIT X11R4 for quite a while and using MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 type of access control to avoid anti-social people from vandalizing my X environment. I also used some DECwindows applications as well, although I had to fall back to xhost based access control since they were not compatible with it. (they were R3) I just installed Ultrix 4.2 and as advertised I had to use the Xws server rather than the MIT provided server. Works just great and notice no changes from the MIT server I was using before (except I had to install DEC provided fonts.). To my surprise, however, decwindows clients still don't work with MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1. Do I have to do something special for this to work? Are DECwindow clients still R3?
