Ican appreciate the difficulty you are having making that decision whether or not to retire your dog. I don't know how good your cane skills are compared to how you get around with the dog, and Idon't know if you are all set up in a class or if Seeing Eye has said they will be accommodating, letting you wait and holding a place for you in the next class after you've had to retire your dog. All Ican say is that I hope you've got a plan nulike me with my first dog. I saw the signs coming for the better part of a year before Heidi's heart failure really got to the point where it was just imposible to keep her any more. I ignorred the signs and was really lucky that I only had to go one month before I got a new dog. I have a chipped tooth, caused by my own stupidity when using my cane, to remind me that I need to plan better next time. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!261!1055.0!Mary.Otten Internet: Mary.Otten@p0.f1055.n261.z1.fidonet.org
