	I normally use an amber plastic insert with a ring insert.  This
seems to work the best for outdoors.  I don't generally use the insert
indoors as the light is much dimmer. 

	I don't know about the experts.  If it works well for you,  then use
it.  One thing I found that helps alot is to put a dead flat black coating
on the sight insert.  Acetylene lamps work well as does Floquil Engine Black
paint (available in many hobby shops).
