Exactly. I don't think that the user was making a mistake, but if I were, I'd use email or "write" to say "Uh, what are you doing?". If (a) the script restarted itself and (b) I got no answer within a reasonable amount of time, I'd have then taken stronger action. This "Stop or I'll shoot." mentality isn't very mental.
