I am requesting feedback from anyone who is using Version 6 of 
Oracle on a VAX/Ultrix (4.1) platform.  Ongoing problems with
data corruption have halted my effort to migrate from Oracle V5.  
In addition to the ORA-1578 errors (Oracle data block corrupted), this  
problem tends to crash the machine (a MicroVAX 3400 w/20M RAM) and
corrupt executables like sh5.  I've worked with a dozen people at
Oracle on this and they have finally concluded that it's a bug 
within the Ultrix kernal.  DEC has been little help, releasing a
required patch 6 weeks after I started this journey.
If I can't get this resolved, we may end up dumping Oracle and/or
DEC altogether.  Any suggestions or descriptions of similar
experiences would be greatly appreciated.
