I have grown quite accustomed to gnu-emacs over the last year. Now, I am working for a consulting firm who's development environment is (to put it bluntly) out of the stone ages. Everybody is using 'vi' over here. I have obtained a copy of the source for emacs.18.57 but have been trying fruitlessly to compile it. We are using SCO Unix System V release 3.2.2 with the development set at least release 3.2.0. There are no other C compilers around. The computer is a Mylex i486. Most of my problems occur when compiling the sysdeps.c module. I also get a large number of warnings dealing with unexpected characters following the #endif directives and truncation of long identifiers. Are these normal? If there is anybody out there who has compiled gnu-emacs successfully on SCO, I would really appreciate it if he/she would be able to tell me how they went about doing the configurations before compiling and during the installation. Thank you.
