I'm looking for devices that will present computer graphics with very precise temporal resolutions -- preferably in the 5ms range. Unfortunately, a typical raster graphics screen at 72Hz refresh is about a third as fast as I'd like, even if I drive it from a high end workstation and don't have to worry about delays induced by the software or OS. We're currently using (1) a vector graphics display that gives very precise temporal resolution for small display lists (say a dozen vectors) but doesn't allow very much in the way of interesting graphics, and (2) various photography-based kludges like printing copies of images and showing them on a tachistoscope. Can anyone suggest any graphical display hardware that could give me better temporal resolutions? Please reply by email since I don't read this list regularly.
