I simply don't understand why this request keeps coming up for an editor. Doesn't the world out there have a word processor out there that can simply be used in text mode? My point is always NOT to use some other editor. Stay away from vi and use the one thing that you always use to write with. To do otherwise confuses the hell out of ordinary joe/jane user. News, mail and any other written note or letter needs to want the same or very similar functions to keep users using the system.
