Most of the comands that prompt for something will automatically abort if you simply leave the field blank. For example, if you hit "b", Elm will prompt with "Send the message to:". If you just hit return, the command will be cancelled. Likewise, "r" will prompt with "Subject: Re: original subject". If you backspace over the proposed subject and hit return, you get a "No subject, continue with message? (y/n)" where you can easily cancel the command. The main exception is hitting "q", where you don't have any way back. I'd agree, though, that it would nice to have Escape cancel any command. Les Mikesell les@chinet.chi.il.us
