It created all directories instead of files, and if you "cd" to any of the directories, you wind up going nowhere. At first I couldn't delete them but I rediscovered the "rm -f" command, which thrashes all files/ directories in the parameter regardless of safeguards. if you try a "rmdir", it'll tell you something like "you can't delete the directory you are currently in." I've resigned myself to downloading the files from piggy to my public access Unix system, untarring them there, then downloading them.
