I'm running QEMM 5.1 w/ DV 2.3 on a 16mhz. 386 (4MB) Data General Laptop. Recently I had a bout with the dreaded "X13" which I could cause at will. I would run Smarterm 240 (st240.exe) as my first window which I used to log onto a DECNET Vax. All I had to do was do a directory listing and tap the "DESQ" (ALT) key while the directory was being listed and wala X13, every time !!! I set protection to #3 and even turned off optimization within setup with no help. But wait, on accident I loaded PCTOOL desktop in window #1 then ST240 in window #2 and suddenly to my surprise no "X13". This leads me to believe loading certain applications in different orders also becomes part of the optimization process. Has anyone else had this experience ???? By the way it's taken me a good 6 months to get my laptop tiptop with QEMM and DV. But I tell you what it was %#$ well worth it. To be able to load at last count 1-9,A,B,C,D applications such as WP 5.1, PCTOOLS shell & desktop, Smarterm, Manifest, CCS CAD, etc... is wonderful, although I do confess I'm still hesitant on working on a valuable document or drawing due to bad experiences with "X13" but I'm gaining confidence daily...
