I set protection to #3 and I've had the same problem with almost every program I use under DV that allows you to do a shell command, like DIR. I have also tried to play around with the configuration with no luck. I finnaly gave up on it, and when I need to use a shell command, I just open up a BIG-DOS window. If you find out a way to stop the problem, please let me know.
