I think they used the Terminal ID field for carrying the answerback string for the Telex recipient. Some FAX devices may also have answerback strings, though I haven't worked with them. (Of course, now BT NA is dropping their old mail system, and I do not know the capabilities of their new product line.) Kit Lueder.
