I wrote it to do selective backups of directories on my harddisk, being terminally frustrated by !Spark's snails pace. !PackDir uses 13-bit LZW compression, resulting in archives that are the same size as !Spark produces with 13-bit 'Compress'. The catch is, it is around 3 to 3.5 times as fast as !Spark. The archives produced are not compatible with !Spark though, and can only be unpacked by !PackDir. As I thought it might be useful to others, I have issued it as PD. Any comments would be appreciated.
