The whole problem is that it doesn't have its own VRAM to work with, but instead uses the (slower) DRAM on the bus (bank A) and thus locks that bank out of the CPUs reach during access by the built-in video. THAT's the problem. Of course, they COULD'VE included its own VRAM, but then it wouldn't be as low-cost.
