The problem is, when I examine my work on a SVGA display or truecolor Xterm, the results are really hideous (banding in color and poor color choices). I have the palette set to 'enhanced' and I'm 'executing' with 256 colors. When I view with 'xloadimage' on a UNIX system, it reports that about 250 different colors are in the colormap, apparently ADPro just didn't get very good approximations. Also, if I use 'color_to_gray' and save a GIF, the file size increases from about 79K to over 120K and apparently has MUCH more detail (more gray shades where single bands of color used to be). Any ideas? I'm using a friend's ADPro, so it's hard to just spend hours messing around trying to tweak it right... -Clay ##################===============------------===============################## Clayton Cowgill cowgilc@prism.cs.orst.edu Head Consultant Lab: (503) 737-2435 Oregon State University CS Dept.
