Thanks to "the brooding side of madness " for pointing me to the FVAL resource in the Finder Preferences file (I was looking at the FVAL's in the Finder itself). Changed the date format value frokm 2 to 0. That did the trick! I was also pointed to the finder_7.0_templates file in the tech directory of the Info-Mac Archives, which I'll get when I can get a connection. -- David C.
