Well, I removed the icons from my apple menu, and yes! It draws much faster now. I did a "get info" on all the items in the Apple Menu folder, and replaced the icons with a blank one (accomplished by creating a blank ICN# resource in Resedit, doing a "select all" and copy in the edit window). Of course, now I have empty white space next to the names of the apple menu items, but at least I don't sit around for 1.2 seconds twiddling my thumbs each time the menu is drawn :-) Please, no flames, I'm sure we all differ in our aesthetic preferences. Now if only someone more knowledgeable could tell us of a hack to get rid of the white space inhabited by the icons... -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sunil Bhatla ||| INTERNET: bhatlas@pyrite.som.cwru.edu Case Western Reserve University ||| VOICE: 216/368-2061 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
