What fun. I was copying a folder containing 96 items, in 1,415,436 bytes, to a freshly formatted HD floppy. The Finder trundled along, never warning about insufficent space, until it got close to the end, when it said "the command could not be completed because of insufficient space" or something like that. I imagine this was because of desktop file update. This is probably something that should be taken into account when evaluating space on the destination. Funny how all my System 7 problems have been floppy-related (like the infinite loop of "Please insert..." followed by me pressing Command/Dot and then "This disk could not be used because it is not in any drive").
