The system includes a 68882 coprocessor and has 10 Mbytes of RAM. Running System 7, with 16-level greyscale selected on the "Monitors" Control Panel I frequently observe the following prob- lem: an icon which has been selected reverts to black-and-white on being deselected. On opening new windows I find them to be the same. Icons which have not been touched still exhibit greyscale nature. I have 24-bit addressing (32-bit switched off) for this behaviour, though I haven't tried it the other way. The problem is scarcely serious, and switching color-greyscale in "Monitors" does reset it, at least temporarily. Has anyone a good idea what is going on? Is something worse likely to happen? Has anyone else encountered this same phenomenon? Leigh Palmer
