The funny thing is that when a process hangs up (say the shell), I can still log in from another window and everything works fine. The hung process eventually comes back to life but it is very annoying to say the least. Does anyone know what causes this scenario? It happens several times a week, sometimes several times a day. When are running IRIX 3.3.1 with 8 processors.
