'ld' creat()'s the new text file.  One of the possible errors is errno 26 --
ETXTBSY.  The reason for this limitation is that some versions of UNIX
(reg.tm-USL) operating system page or swap directly from the executable.
Therefore, modification of the executable must be prevented.
