Subject: AMS cyrillic accents with the NFSS

We would like to use the AMS cyrillic fonts in our LaTeX documents.
However, we equipped LaTeX with Schoepf and Mittelbach's font selection scheme,
and we have a problem now. Accents, and letters that are selected with commands,
come out all wrong: somehow, another letter is chosen. Letters selected with a latin letter are correct. In TeX, and using cyrillic.sty written by Charles Karney, there is no problem.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem, and even better: provide a ready-made solution?
