Many thanks to those who responded to my last posting. I'm using latex, and I would like to define a command that causes uppercase letters to be footnotesize, and lowercase to be normalsize. I don't mind at all if this requires some large hack, or if it's terribly slow: it beats changing several thousand \mycommand{SomeText} to \mycommand{{\footnotesize S}ome...}. If this is a really nasty problem, please let me know, and I'll write a C filter to pre-process my file. Thanks again! kevin
