I've been trying to use expect to retrieve my mcimail. Over a direct serial line to an mcimail server, my expect script hangs every time. Over a modem to an mcimail 800 number, the script hangs 2 out of every three tries, but works fine otherwise! I've used expect a fair amount, an would like to think that user error is not the problem. No, its not a timing/timeout problem either that is causing the flaky behavior over the modem. The modem is a telebit trailblazer. Thanks! Bob Wise rmwise@jjmhome.uucp
