I'm interesten in any info or experiences you can tell me about Xenix and Modems. I want to install a modem to a 486 machine .. runninx SCO Xenix (with DOS 5.0 on the other disk partition). I tried with the sysadmsh System->Add->Serial but the xenix don;t looks like know the modem .. the sysadmsh works fine on single-user and when i go to multiuser and enable the terminal (i.e. tty1A) the xenix starts complaining .. with cannot open tty1A: errno 6 i tried with the 4 different's com (1-4) and every port send the same result .. except port 1 where a mouse is installed .. the funny part is that from DOS i can use the modem on com4 and the mouse on COM1 .. When the system goes up only recognize the serial port COM1 .. any ideas ? hints ? manuals to read ? i have to check the system administrator manual. Any help will be appreciated.,. Thanks a lot Gerardo Oliva ITESM Campus Monterrey gerardo@mtecv2.mty.itesm.mx
