Boy, I was hoping this one would go away but was rong again. 1) No: You cannot contract a PC virus by doing a DIR, a virus must be executed. 2) Once you have executed a virus, it could take control of the PC and infect floppies in this manner as several people have pointed out, but you cannot BECOME infected in this manner.
