Message-ID: <16620@life.ai.mit.edu> Date: 22 Jun 91 16:49:42 GMT Sender: news@ai.mit.edu Organization: Free Software Foundation, Cambridge, MA Lines: 11 I recently upgraded my 286 to 4 Meg of RAM. My current configuration is: 1.2 Meg. RAM disk holding frequently-used apps. 2 Meg. disk cache (1 Meg. cache under Windows) 128k for 4DOS/DOS 5.0 in extended memory. This leaves me about 1100k under Windows. The question is, would I get better performance by removing the RAM disk and upping the disk cache to 2 Meg. under Windows? If it helps, the cache in question is HyperDisk, and the RAM disk is RAMDRIVE.SYS.
