I'm posting for a friend who's an MS Windows programmer who would like to know
how Geos compares with MS Windows (speedwise, libraries, etc).  
Has there been much previous discussion on this?  If there has been, then 
please forgive my ignorance, and I would appreciate your directing me to 
the proper archive of this discussion.
