Specific Symptoms: - it only happens in VGA, switching to EGA gets rid of the problem - it happens in all three windows modes /s, /r, /386 - it only happens to certain colors, the light gray used as the default windows background is particularly bad - the dots are about half an inch behind the cursor point - the dots aren't randomly scattered but fall only on vertical lines spaced about one quarter inch apart - sometimes when I unhide a window part of the screen is covered with these lines -refreshing a window gets rid of the dots, till they start coming back - I get the same problem with MS Bus mouse CompuAdd's serial mouse (a really lousy mouse!) Logitech Trackman -rest of the hardware: CompuAdd 25mhz 386 CompuAdd 16bit VGA card (type A) Nec 2a monitor I've tried: - stripping the autoexec.bat and config.sys to the bare minimum - getting the latest drivers from CompuAdd's BBS -trying the three different mice. Nothing seems to work. We have other CompuAdd machines here with the same setup except for the monitor and card. So I figure the problem is with the card or the driver. Any help will be appreciated.
