I reject the idea that the PATH: header does anything more that help
news determine if an article has been seen by a particular machine.

I will save your bug report for consideration in NNTP 1.6 with respect to
"From:" and "Sender:"

You might consider sending bug reports to the "nntp@tmc.edu" since that is
what it is there for.
