Since it is much easier to get birding stuff (books in English, etc.) from here I was thinking of buying a few books about birding in Europe before leaving. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have for items in the following categories [The languages I can read are Italian, English, French and Spanish]: - A pocket-size field guide - A more in-depth coverage of biology and behavior of European birds - A where-to-find-birds guide - Something (if it exists) along the lines of the North-American "A Guide to Bird Behavior" by Stokes&Stokes (i.e. explanations of basic habits of common birds) - Song recordings Please, e-mail your suggestions. Thanks in advance, Alberto Marcone marcone@math.psu.edu
