There is battery backup for when it is dark. The manual calls for AgO rechargeable cells so the solar cells can recharge them when in direct sunlight. Q.: Will my non-rechargeable AgO batteries explode or leak when the solar cells kick in? Q.: Will the solar cells extend the battery life of my regular AgO's? P.S.
