(A block converter, as you know, shifts the cable frequency bands into the UHF band for your TV to tune.) I can tune in only a small portion of the channels I used to, and those I can receive are marginal at best. However, when I put the cable company's box back on the same line, the screen is crystal clear and the company's converter can tune all the channels. So, I figured the block converter must have taken a voltage spike or something, and got another. This new box has the same problem! Any idea what might be causing this problem? My regular box is a Scientific Atlanta 8530. My cable-compatible TV and VCR can also receive the channels clearly, but these older models cannot receive all the cable channels. I hoped the block converter would do the trick for my VCR.
