Hi, I have a Discovery 2448P send fax modem which has a very nice send
fax software under MS-DOS come with it. I tried it under VP/ix, but the
COM port handling would not run correctly.

The mentioned software is able to hande ascii text and tiff, pcx and other
graphic files as well. 

Is there a Unix version of that software (called DT-SOF) available on the
market? Or did anybody write his own software to send at least simple text
files from UNIX?

Is there any public domain software which is able to convert ascii and maybe
tiff/pcx files into the appropriate fax format?          

Any help appreciated
