i've been writing PostScript fonts for a while, problem is that more
and more writing packages (word4windows et.al) need a PFM and a PFB.

i've been writing AFM by hand and converting to PFM with REFONT, but 
i really need the PFB.

1) is there a reference/description for the [binary] PFB files which will help
   me write code to create them?

2) is there a program which eats PostScript/AFM/PFM and spits out PFB?
