I am looking for recommendations for commercially-available
VHDL systems for designing vhdl models of ASICs.  

Specifically I'm interested a good modeling package, which would
include compiler, simulator(s), (synthesis tools?)
The pros and cons would be very helpful.  Even a reasonable list
of the available packages would help.
