I have a Kaypro II that loses characters at speeds above 1200 too with most terminal programs, but there is a simple program, FASTTERM that works at higher speeds. I'm told that this has to do with whether or not things are "interrupt-driven". If you have access to the internet (which it doesn't look like) you can get files from Simtel by ftp, otherwise I guess you can get them by mail request as discussed in a recent digest.
