You could set up one of the PC's as server with telnet (or tn3270) and then run ftp on the other machine. If you don't have ftp, it is in the clutcp.zoo distribution archive on omnigate.clarkson.edu. The directory is /pub/cutcp/v2.2-D. I've done this before without problems (you will need to set up a password file for telnet and enable file transfers). I'm assuming that the ethernet you're talking about using is Internet.
