Keywords: CUTCP, IMC, tcp-ip, enpd Message-ID: <4244@ux.acs.umn.edu> Date: 30 Jun 91 06:17:59 GMT Distribution: comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc Organization: University of Minnesota, Academic Computing Services Lines: 23 I have recently installed two EtherNic ethernet network cards (16bit, 10Mbit/s, 64k cache) into two machines: 386sx and 486. The cards came with a packet driver called ENPD.EXE, ver 2.03. The driver loaded as promised and I was able to get the machines to connect to an IBM RISC/6000 with a bit of effort. I am able to rlogin, telnet, FTP, etc.. However, whenever I do something BIG, the system hangs. By 'BIG' I mean: transfer a large (>30k) ascii file, transfer a binary file, do 'too much' ls/cd/etc that causes printed characters to be transmitted. The foolproof way to hang it is to FTP a binary file. However, the system has hung a couple of other times just at the DOS PROMPT. This to me sounds like a driver problem. Any ideas? Serial # of card/software: IMC002 and 10-11102, if needed. Could I just use a different driver? I tried the others available, but no such luck. Thanks in advance, and PLEASE e-mail responses to me. -scott sirovy@ux.acs.umn.edu
