The display enhancer samples one pixel every 70ns, and it knows how to get out
of the way of display modes that are already at 31kHz sync rates.  The 1280
pixel modes are 15kHz, but use 35ns pixels.  So you get two pixel positions for
every one sample taken by the display enhancer, resulting in a scan-converted
display that's missing every other pixel.
