Message-ID: <7370424@hpfcso.FC.HP.COM> Date: 27 Jun 91 19:59:46 GMT References: <44375@fmsrl7.UUCP> Organization: Hewlett-Packard, Fort Collins, CO, USA Lines: 15 /comp.sys.hp/ wehr@fmsrl7.UUCP (Bruce Wehr ) / | I was just asked if HP 9000 Series 500 workstations can run HP | Workstation BASIC, and I haven't a clue. The 9020 (aka 520) BASIC has a core command set which is _very_ close to Series 200 BASIC 1.0 or 2.0. Extensions differ greatly. For example, 520 BASIC has capabilities for multitasking, some windowing, 3-D graphics, etc. It does not have any of the capabilities added to Series 300 BASIC after release 3.0, say. Both support hierarchical file systems, but 520B uses SDF, while RMB uses HFS. Both BASICs are very capable, but it's unlikely that an extensive program from one will run on the other without some changes.
