The HP-UX 7.05 server is X11R4. However, the libraries are still R3. The 7.05 release was for the purpose of supporting new SPUs and display hardware. This required a new X server, since display drivers are linked in. The default operation of the X server is with bug compatibility mode on, to maintain compatibility with R3 behavior. > Secondly., is there any way to find > out what version of X is running ona computer. Either a command (for HP/UX) > or a simple program? Not that I know of, since the VendorRelease function returns just that, a release number specific to the vendor.
