Whenever I power up, the computer would beep 9 times (AMI ROM BIOS failure) and just do nothing (the rest of the POST). My field expedient solution is to flick the power switch on and off until the system does boot. I did notice some interesting things, however. Whenever I removed the hard drive controller (a Seagate ST22M), and left in the I/O card (or vice versa), things would be okay. I set the address jumpers on both cads such that there will not be a conflict, but the problem still persists. SYSTEM SETUP: 386sx-20 with 2mb ram (AMI BIOS, Intel VLSI chipset) Seagate ST22M (HD I/O Ports) (FDD I/O Ports) 1F0-1F7 3F0-3F5 3F6-3F7 3F7 2S/1P/1G Port Setting (LPT2) (COM3) (COM4) 378 3E8 2E8 BOCA Basic VGA + IBM 8512 monitor (from my 30-286) HD: Seagate ST-4051 (a tempermental beast) FDD: Toshiba 1.2mb, Sony 1.44mb Genuine IBM 84-key AT KBD Any and all suggested solutions are welcome.
