Message-ID: <1991Jun26.182013.18885@cs.cornell.edu> Summary: Only works sometimes Originator: kaplanr@farnsworth.cs.cornell.edu Sender: news@cs.cornell.edu (USENET news user) Nntp-Posting-Host: farnsworth.cs.cornell.edu Organization: Cornell Univ. I just purchased a PLUS HARDCARD 40 and it fails to boot up correctly. When I boot up with only the ST251-1, everything is fine. It also works when I boot up with just the HARDCARD (with the jumper set for drive 1). But when I set the HARDCARD jumper for drive two and boot up with both drives, the system does not recognize either drive and refuses to boot. Ctrl-Alt-Del and reset do not help. BUT the strange thing is, if I turn off the computer and turn it back on as soon as the drive stops spinning, then the system boots, it recognized both drives, and everything works fine. Is the HardCard supposed to work on a 386sx? Has anyone ever had this trouble? Is there a way to fix it? >>Rob Kaplan kaplanr@cs.cornell.edu Cornell Computer Science Dept.
