I know about this problem with C&T motherboards. In my case only a change
of the motherboard fixed this problem. (My local dealer fixed this problem
for free !!!!!!!!!). I use a SIS motherboard now.
Maybe you've a similar problem, but I don`t know whether switching to 
Soundmaster can fix that problem or not.
