Message-ID: Date: 27 Jun 91 19:46:15 GMT Sender: news@exodus.Eng.Sun.COM Distribution: na Organization: Fun Microsystems, Inc. Lines: 23 I've been thinking about picking up a SoundBlaster card, and in looking through the newsgroups for info about it, I've noticed a couple posts making reference to a Sound Master card, but haven't been able to find any detailed description of it. I haven't seen this in stores or ads yet, so I assume it's a new card. Is it a replacement for the SoundBlaster? What more does it do, and should I wait for it? I'm mainly interested in the SB for games (Wing Commander for starters), and for playing around with sound sampling and voice synthesis; I don't expect to be getting into MIDI in any serious way. Are there other boards I should be considering, as well? I also don't want to pay much more than the current street price around here (around US$145), so if the Sound Master costs much more than that, I might as well pick up the Blaster.
