I looked around for a good newsgroup to post in regarding this and ibmpc.hardware came closest.. so here goes... I have a 486 Machine and added a 3c503 card in there. I was trying to use the public domain telnet (NCSA 2.3b10). The jumper settings on the card indicate its using I/O Port 300H and its using Memory dc000. In the config file of telnet, I have indicated these values and also indicated wire=thin (since I am using thin ethernet to connect) and interrupt=5. Each time I try telnet, it freezes up.. doesnt even let me out of telnet. I have tried basically all combinations of I/O address vs Memory Address. I have also tried a number of 3c503 cards. I have had friends work their 503's without any problem; they do not even install a driver for it! My question is.... Could it be the interrupts getting messed up? And if so, how would I solve the problem? Do PC's normally have jumpers on the motherboard to setup interrupts? or is my pc just not compatible? Thanks a lot, Email will be much appreciated! --Ganesh -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ganesh Rangarajan, Systems Support Group Work: (904)-644-7339(Rm 11 Lov) Dept. of Computer Sc.
